I have always wanted to be able to swim. A couple of years ago, one job ended a month before another job began. I took the opportunity to get swimming lessons and, although I won’t be challenging Michael Phelps any time soon, I can swim reasonably well, and I absolutely love swimming.
A couple of months ago, before I knew I was unwell, my swimming performance hit a plateau, then it nosedived. I was struggling to complete one length. I attributed this to my migraines. I wasn’t worried as such, but I was starting to wonder what was going on.
Today, I was back in the pool for the first time since diagnosis, and I haven’t swum that well in a very long time. I am still feeling rotten for quite a lot of the day, but I am definitely getting better.
Modern medicine is miraculous.
