An empty strip of metformin tablets

Today is three months since I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Three months is thirteen weeks, and right on schedule, I finished my thirteenth strip of metformin today.

I have a spreadsheet that is full of blood glucose readings that I have broken down into various charts and trends. That data is also in my OneTouch Reveal account, and I can look at various charts there too. To be honest, it doesn’t really have huge clinical significance, but it is nice to see that things very much under control now.

My health has improved a lot. My swimming is so much better, and I have lost weight. Not a huge amount, but enough to make a difference. I’m not sleeping as well as I have been, but that’s probably for non-diabetes reasons!

Most importantly, my blood glucose is much lower now. It is generally around 6.3 mmol/L, which is where it should be.

I think I’m doing OK.
