A wise man once said “If one is going to be diabetic, one one ought to at least be an organised diabetic.” I am going to take that a step further, and say that if one is going to be diabetic, one ought at least to be a cosy diabetic.
Winter is coming, and it will be my first winter as a diabetic. I work from home. I want to make sure that my home office is warm enough, especially as I can’t use the electrically-heated foot rest I had last year. NHS England advises that you should keep your house to at least 18 ºC.
So, I have bought myself an Eve Room, a little doohickey that monitors temperature, humidity, and air quality. It works with Apple Home, so I should be able to use it to set up scenes and such that warn me if the room gets too cold.
